Mary Anne Hobbs @ Lambi

Fresh from the success of her first ever film soundtrack design for Darren Aronofsky's Oscar winning Black Swan, Mary Anne Hobbs returns to Montréal at Club Lambi on the 29th April.

"The undisputed first lady of bass" (XLR8R) can ride any motorcylce you put in front of her, but is most reknowned for breaking new electronic music on the world stage. For 14 years Hobbs worked for Britain's BBC Radio 1, hosting an influential experimental music show that drew widespread attention to dubstep, grime, bass music and other underground electronic genres. Last summer Hobbs announced that she was leaving Radio 1 to start her new position as Media Development Coordinator at Sheffield University and continues to tour her selector skills around the world.

Mary Anne Hobbs will appear with Montréal-based experimental noise makers Meat Parade & The Gulf Stream as well as Lookout's resident DJ, Rilly Guilty & DJ Lexis.

2011’s first and most wikidest rave…

North American debut!

Starting over 10 years ago in North London, constructing foundation garage and 2-step beats, Danny “Native” has been grinding ever since, showing up with hits across the sub-genres as they change. With huge release's on landmark labels Hyperdub and 3024, pioneering his own label EYE4EYE, and producing 2 albums in the past year (with another still to come!) A.N. is more than over-due.

Altered Natives is a landmark UK producer. His sound embodies the essence of what we now generalize as “UK”. Whether the beat is Broken, Funky, Garage or 2-Step, Danny’s productions consistently extend beyond their UK classifications, identifying with Techno, Tribal, Progressive and Funky House music.

Oh yeah, he’s also a rude-boy DJ!

BUS – (Mtl, E.S.L.)
Montreal resident, and E.S.L. bad boy, DJ BUS has been crushing UK sound for the past 10 years. Sharing bills with Roska, Mary Anne Hobbs, MAK 10, Shackelton, and Gothtrad have made Bus the go to dj for almost every poppin’ party. He never fails to get every single body moving. Rugs Get Cut'

LEXIS – (Mtl,
A local legend who needs no introductions, DJ LEXIS has been on top of the Montreal music game for the past 10 years, but more so now then ever, organizing BIG shows: with partner R. Guilty and is also the founder of This website is one of the most reliable sources on-line for downloading new music and getting that shit, you NEED!

In Montreal, Guilty is regarded as a taste-maker, helping everyone find their groove whether behind the decks or on the floor. He’s a fantastic hip hop and house DJ, rocking Montreal’s afterhours scene. Dedicated to the masses and to exposing underground music, Guilty held down an incredibly successful Saturday night weekly at Blue Dog for two years. This man comes more than equipped to mash up the dance floor.

Kris Guilty and DJ Lexis have done more in 2010 than most promoters can do in their entire career.

Montreal’s own ghetto supastah, Sharivari a.k.a. Bowly has been on the tip of everyone’s tongue in 2010. Being charted by massif artist ModeSelektor, interviewed with Vice Magazine UK, rated by FACT Magazine as one the top three performances at this year’s Mutek Festival, and releasing his first 12 inch on Berkane Sol, make Sharivari the definition of up and coming.

A founding member of E.S.L., and wax connaisseur, this long-time underground arts community player has represented the truest forms of music culture in Montreal for over fifteen years. Forward thinking to the max, incredible selector, Skinny Bones is a backbone of the next bass music sound... Clearly from the future.
